Night’s nothing but a blur
Drinks of whiskey and mead
Head thrashed ‘til it aches
Ears blasted ‘til they bleed

As we wake from our slumber
To the piercing light of dawn
We see the trail of slime
And all our women gone

Chorus 1
We set sail for distant lands
The beast’s blood soon on our hands
From years of torment met its match
We hunt the dreaded Tacklesnatch

Verse 2
Months pass with total failure
And half our crew is dead
Our swords still ache for flesh
And we’ve many miles to tread

The water’s deep and dark
We fear what lies beneath
Feel the coil wrap your leg
A fate of claws of teeth

With war paint on our faces
And a fierce battle cry
We swear to the metal gods
The monster will die

In the distant parting mist
We come upon its lair
A gate of gore and bone
Hides the nightmare

Every childhood terror
Washes over like a storm
The squid, the wolf, and Satan
In one horrific form

Harpoon above my head
Prepared to strike with might
He knocks it from my hand
Not looking for a fight

He exhales a cloud of smoke
A voice that booms like thunder
I’ve drugs for you to take
And women left to plunder

We drank and smoked and laid
In trade he gave his mark
Our mission to spread fear
Of what’s lurking in the dark
